Rereading through this... I REALLY dislike Fuwa... not only did he not appreciate Kyoko while she was in love with him, he couldn't see her charming points. And THEN once, Kyoko's gone, the jerk realizes she can be pretty and becomes possessive about her. And when she provokes him with words he doesn't want to hear, he actually lashes out physically! Not a very good indication he's guaranteed not to do more to a romantic partner in the future. His love for our main girl is purely selfish, manipulative, immature, and toxic. Does he have his good moments with her? Yes, but that is outweighed by the bad. He is no use to her emotionally when it counts, and if he had ANY decency in him, he'd let her forget about him so she can move on with her life. In comparison, even if Ren has a much darker past and is more dangerous, Kyoko is STILL better off with him, rather than Shou. Ren treats her better, saw her charms - even with their brief meeting as kids, encourages her passion for acting and doesn't let himself or his feelings be a hindrance in her work. He's able to comfort her in her low points and help her with her creative-blocks. And that she's able to help Ren through his personal struggles too makes it all the better. Seriously Shou... LET KYOKO GO!
