I also don't think that Derrick would have let Shahi sleep with a woman first, even if he'd known the secret before the rape because he didn't care about Shahi's wishes. His "love" was only possessive and selfish in nature. He would never have allowed Shahi to have sex with another person and bear that person's child even if it was a woman.
