I’m sure that many of us readers could come up with a far superior ending. Perhaps something on the order of ML being fed into a combine or maybe a chipper for a tree service would fit in nicely with his character or lack thereof. Being made into mulch would be about the only gift to the world that he is capable of giving.
The end is too simple. It's too bad because it was a good story （￣へ￣）
