That's awesome!!!!! I have never corresponded with someone living in Iraq. I hope everything is okay where you live (with the whole ISIS issue). Being from the US, I don't really know, personally, how ISIS is affecting local areas in Iraq.

well I'm from the southern areas of Iraq while ISIS is in the north so they're pretty far away .. those terrorists really harmed a lot of people we have thousands of refugees living in tents during this cold winter .. children and many women living in schools, not to mention the men who died fighting them or the Sabean women getting sold, christian people forced to leave their homes .. Iraq wasn't that peaceful to begin with but now it's so much worse, people in the mid areas or in the south (like myself) are still under threat of having to leave our homes if they managed to get to us .. it's pretty tense but we're obligated to continue our daily lives

Thank you so much for sharing something like this. I wish I could help somehow. All I can say is that I volunteer with the International Rescue Committee, a humanitarian aid organization which assists refugees and others displaced by conflict and disaster all around the world. I hope to continue working with this organization and help refugees from Iraq, Syria, and other countries.

If you ever want to know what the US perspective is, don't hesitate to send me a message.

that's really kind of you and quite generous .. we also try to help those people in any way we can it's common right now for college students to hold a fund raising to help those people, we actually did that in my collage we were thankfully able to buy them clothes, pillows and mattresses and we plan to do that again and again until those people are able to return to their homes again

That is such an amazing project. I never hear about anything like that in the news about Iraq. I think your efforts are so inspiring. Do you think Iraq will ever become stable and peaceful? I hope to see that in the future.

it's in the local media I guess but nothing world wide, it's a group of small efforts to try make things a little better .. well the youth definitely want to change things but that will be quite difficult, there's just too many problems at the moment so nothing in the near future but we still hope it gets better soon ^^

    Twinpowerhm February 11, 2015 8:06 pm

I am glad that youth wants things to change. I think that with how connected the world is today, with social media and stuff. It'll be easier to create that change. Speaking about social media, how did you get into manga? Do a lot of people in Iraq like manga? =) I like yaoi, yuri, shoujo, and anyting that is good! My brother actually influenced me into reading shounen and then I went on from there. (=・ω・=)

I got into manga through translation actually, although i stopped now I used to work in arabic scanlation groups,
they're definitely more into anime (sometime my colleagues talk to me in Japanese once the now i'm into anime too and it gets so awkward and i'm like "please stop" ( ̄∇ ̄")), but a lot of them are getting into manga since we began to have online arabic manga sites, but i think very few know about yaoi or yuri, it's like a social taboo here and nobody ever translate it

me too i read every thing that's good !! give me a good story and i'll read it but yaoi holds a special place in my heart (▰˘◡˘▰)

    Twinpowerhm February 11, 2015 10:32 pm

Haha. I kinda thought it might be taboo there, but I didn't want to assume anything. Does that mean you think same sex marriage is okay and stuff? You must be one of the few who are okay with it in Iraq?

You know Japanese? That is amazing! Did you learn from college or something? And yaoi is amazing. I recommend you read: http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/19_days/ ---> It's a HILARIOUS yaoi/shounen ai.

well it doesn't bother me I have no right to decide anything for anyone it's not my life it's their's they're free to do what they want that's what I believe in ^^ well it's not just Iraq, the whole arabic world not just the muslims but also the christians and jews here are not very okay with it

no not japanese XD we translate english scans ^^ .. oh god I love old xian so much this story is just amazing also i liked the specific heat capacity of love I was sobbing for hours after i read that one

    Twinpowerhm February 12, 2015 3:21 am

Yep! I totally agree with you. I think that people care too much about it. Love is Love! The US is a lot better, but it is a problem. But same-sex marriage is legal in 37 states now! Pretty amazing.

I actually haven't read the specific heat capacity of love yet. I'm worried I'll just become a mess afterwards.

I want 19 Days to be updated sooner! It is such a great manga. I have never laughed so hard (=・ω・=)
