I didn't like how one of them accepted the other's confession because he felt lonely. Think about it: someone who is your best friend and is always with you, suddenly disappears or whatever. Of course anyone would feel lonely, but that doesn't always mean anything romantic. Especially when the guy received several confessions, but rejected them all because he clearly liked a specific girl. He even got upset with his best friend after he got rejected and wanted to be left alone.
idk, maybe if there was an extra chapter that showed or talked more about them and their feelings in length, them hooking up would've felt more genuine. (2)
