korea until recently was a third world country, and several people who were literally slaves for japan are still alive today. with that in mind, and the tensions between north korea, south korean culture is very very very strict and reliant on tradition - because until recently, that was all that was left. and our FL doesn't even work in regular korea, she works in an upper-class school for rich heirs, a prestigious academy that is literally shaping the rich workers (korea relies a lot on connections). if she was at a regular school, maybe it would be different, but she is not only teaching at a prestigious school, but she is also in a country that prides itself on its education. she is setting the example for these future heirs, and she got pregnant? while being unmarried and not even in a romantic relationship? of course people are gonna be pissed. she's setting the example, and here she is, sleeping around when she's not even in a regular relationship. if this wasn't such a prestigious school, it would be different. but it's a combination of the cultural environment, the economic environment, and the fact that she's a teacher.
