I had been curious about how you guys usually buy yaoi manga at book store... I always alone when I want to buy yaoi manga (none of my friends like or know yaoi). I always nervous when I want to bought it... especially if the cover is hardcore yaoi or boy x boy kissing / hugging, and when I take this book in cashier and the cashier keeper is a man.. duh.. and when other ppl keep staring at me because I buy this kind of book ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

    I usually buy digital copies since I sadly don't have room for hard copies, but even when I buy hard copies, I buy them on the internet and get it shipped.

    i had these problematic thoughts at first too and was embarassed at the cashier always looking kinda conspicuous standing there deep red...
    but now i stand there imagining the cashier or other men buying their porn magazines without being ashamed at all and don`t get as embarassed as before - guess that kinda works like standing on the stage imagining the viewers naked

    I've never boughten yaoi from a store, I'm too embarrassed to. >.< I usually order online and have them shipped to my home. My dad has no idea. >.> He thinks they're just normal books like I usually buy. This one time I had just gotten a package in of a yaoi book and had the box it came in opened on my counter since I had to go to the bathroom really badly just as I was opening it. My dad walked in and saw it. It was one with two guys in a 'position' on the cover, no nudity but it was apparent they were a couple. I lied and said it was a romance book and that the uke on the cover was a girl. Thank god it was one of those overly feminine ukes! ;u;

    Other than that there was one time where I had happened upon 7 yaoi books at a thrift store (a goodwill used book store) and bought those. The woman at the register knew me since I'm a regular customer, and I had placed them all cover side down to avert anyone from seeing the cover pictures. I told her I had 7 and she just glanced at them then rung me up without paying much attention to the books. I made it out alive! (= · ¤ · =)/

    I've bought a couple of volumes of BL at the store and I know what you mean! ^^"
    I agree it's a little embarrassing for me sometimes too. As soon as I find my book I get it as soon as I can because they usually don't have more than one copy where I go. But then I have to walk around the store with it so I'm always trying to hide it without looking like I'm stealing it lol.
    In the end, I say it's still worth it if it means I can own my favorite mangas! :)
