Later on in the raws you find Director Bai has a very shitty ass of a father as a child his father refused to let Director Bai go to places for fun and is even responsible for crippling Director Bai's mom as one of the servants pushed her into the road and ended up getting hit by car which crippled her legs.

Buuut it does not stop there you find he is very oppressive and was interfering with Luo Bo's mom ways in how she raised him and would beat Luo Bo severely for any time he made a mistake.ヽ(`Д´)ﾉThis is a fact that not even Director Bai knows and is not revealed until towards the end of the raws when his sister explains why she sent Luo Bo in the first place. (〜￣△￣)〜

Her sending him in a box while it seems comical in the beginning it was because she was hoping President Bai would care and protect him from his grandfather. And as to why she put him in a box given to how sever and oppressive the situation was she was probably desperate and was hoping their father would not catch onto her sending Luo Bo to Director Bai in the first place because while Director Bai gets hit/smacked by his father often due to his position and reputation his father can't do anything to him and any of the personal living in his home.

So to sum it all up Director Bai and his sister have an asshole of a father and Luo Bo was being beaten by him so he was sent to Director Bai for protection and to be his temporary guardian.
