To be honest, the reason I got introduced to this manga was because of the anime. Thinking it was an innocent shounen ai. But after watching 3 episodes, I realised that it was going to be something I never expected. I completed the manga before the anime had completed, so I knew of the ending before but it still hit me like a truck when it happened. This story is so captivating and ingenuous. Maybe because it was written a long time back or maybe it's because the characters are so easy to fall in love with. The characters, their stories and the development of their personalities just makes me so proud. Each chapter keeps you hooked to read the next. And when it finally is over, the high (low tbh) stays with you for a long time. Reading this made me view my surroundings a more differently and more openly. It changed my perspective and I can't be more grateful. The author did a fantastic job of telling the story of 2 boys, who's worlds collided but instead of being bitter and angsty, decided to take care of each other in a way we all wish to be treated. Eiji, I know you're not a real person, but my heart is with you. You taught me to be patient, kind and loving even if the situation is dire. Your perseverance taught me to deal with things and not to judge people by the actions they do but by how they are. You truly cared for Aslan and I know he did for you. So no matter where you are, you'll always be together. Aslan, you are an inspiration. You are strong, you are meticulous, you are smart and you deserve all the love in the world. I wish I could give you a hug and push you to eiji. Thank you for being the way you are. Because you're perfect. I came for the shounen ai. I continued for the stories. And I'm still here for the characters.
Spoilers.. don't proceed if you don't want the story to be ruined Reading the last chapter made me hate everything. I thought it was so unfair that Aslan life had to end in such a way. Especially after winning the battle. But the more I thought about it, the more I realised that maybe he was tired. Maybe he just wanted to be free. When he completed reading the letter and got up to meet eiji it's clear that he truly wanted to be with him. But sometimes we don't get what we deserve and it fucking sucks. Also, this manga and anime is so underrated. I swear to God if you're one of those people who doesn't watch it because it's a "yaoi". Get educated This is a masterpiece and you're missing that experience
