it's that kind of parenting that causes children to hate their parents so much they leave the home and never ever contact the parents for the rest of their life or the parent subjects the child to so much stress that they ultimately break and either kill the parents or kill themselves.
there are numerous news stories and online stories of japanese and chinese children and teenagers committing suicide because the stress of doing nothing but studying for their whole life, the most recent one i read was a 17 year old boy that hung himself in his bedroom, he left a suicide note blaming his mother cause she forced him to study all the time, if he wasn't at school he was being forced to study at his desk, he only slept for 4/5 hours a day for over a decade, when he failed to get into the college his mother wanted him to go to his mother basically called him useless and a waste of life.
He had a younger sibling and when the police investigated the suicide and found his note and read what the mother had done she was charged with child abuse, neglect and manslaughter.
