In all seriousness though, maybe the person who said that ORV was bad was just not used to slow-burn. It's understandable if some don't like the pacing of this story. Since that person read SL, he or she probably saw many people comparing the two so they might've thought that the two would be similar. But they're not.
SL does not really focus much on world-building, that I've noticed. Let's give an example. It already established the fact that hunters and dungeons are already normalized in around the first few chapters. ONE OF THE only main mysteries in SL that really keeps us reading is that why do dungeons even exist in their world. And some people prefer this kind of pacing. Also, many be simping over Sung Jinwoo I mean even I am pfft-
So yeah, not slow-burn.
I'm personally a huge fan of slow-burn and I find ORV as a really great example of it. It definitely takes advantage of the concept and genre. I don't want to talk about how they established the world-building and character developments in the novel because that's already going to reach spoiler territory. But there's a reason why it has 551 chapters. And There's a reason why many people keep praising it. Uwu fellow slow-burn appreciators.
Both are very different genres so likely there will be people with different opinions towards each series. I personally love both of them very much, because I read almost any genre. And yea that's pretty much it hehe
I've read both ORV and SL and tbh i prefer ORV over SL by quite a bit. hmm i guess my only complaint is how it ended. I mean i get why it ended that way but i'll prefer it to have a solid conclusive ending, with extra scenes that show's our dokja finally spending time with the people who he loves and loves him and generally just for everyone to finally enjoy the happiness they deserve. Plot wise everything is really good, keep me excited and interested in everything that's going on in the story. There's alot more tactical(?) aspects to it compared to SL definitely and maybe some people isn't fond of that. Also i assume people who reads SL are more into the kind of stories where MC is straight up OP/ gets OP suddenly and kind of do everything themselves, with side characters either admiring or worshipping them. While ORV is kind of similar it's also different where MC only appeared OP to other characters and are mainly using their smarts/wits to use powerful people around him or make himself more powerful using items (which some people might find it lame since it's not a power they uh trained or harness by themselves like some shonen protag?) Yeah so maybe that's why they don't like it. Which btw dokja tried but he just doesn't have the talent at all :'D. Anyway ORV is nice and all, but i like TCF better for the way it's written and character interaction/development is more fleshed out.
I also love the relationships in ORV and TCF, even though the MCs don't have their own romance partner, you can see and feel how much they love each other (platonically/family). Dokja and Cale's relationships with the kids as his children, ChoiHan and Jeewon's loyalty and being the sword and powerhouse for MCs. Even though these MCs causes emotional stress to their friends, it is understandable because of the circumstances and responsibilities they have to carry. it is also funny how they have to be forced to have their rest time hahaha omg, when Dokja was put into sleep/hibernation mode by his friends just for him to take a rest lmao, not to mention the mantra "kim dokja... don't do anything unnecessary..."
Hehe I love how you Said Our Dokja xD he is us readers precious child xD
And yea I also feel unsatisfied with the open ending :')) we didn't even get to see YJH take revenge for making him eat mud haha. But story wise it makes sense so we can't really complain :'))
I love both TCF and ORV but in my case I find ORV a bit better than TCF. Its just me but I find most of the convo the Characters in tcf have kinda bland :| . But when Cale is with Alberu and the children its hella intersting and cute xD also The owners of the ancient powers are bunch of odd balls so it's fun when they talk as well xD but sometimes information and conversation are bit repetitive T_T
Most importantlyyyyyy Cale is never getting his slacker life is he (/TДT)/
Yes!! Their protectiveness and love towards their own people is just really satisfying to read. Which is why we enjoy it so much since both ORV and TCF have a similar breed of mc hahaha. I also love the pot/plot twists that happens in the story which makes you think 'omg that's so clever' or 'damn that's really awesome', usually when dokja/cale uses their smarts to overcome an unfavorable situation or (in tcf's words) smacking the bad guys from behind.
Yeah i guess i just like it more cause i personally really like Cale's scammer attitude and generally how he strategizes fights. Can't deny that some of the info does get repetitive tho which also bothered me at one time (like how much he mentioned he's the trash of the family at the start lol) but i love the other aspects enough to close my eyes for it :'DD. Well... alberu did say that he'll guarantee his slacker life even when he becomes his prime minister so.. who knows? ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Also i know people keep saying he's bringing trouble for himself but he can't have a slacker life if the world had gone to shit can't he? So i see it as a necessary sacrifice xD

Uhhh Novel Readers Please tell me what aspect of ORV is unlikable??? I reccomended ORV to a person who said they want something like SL and they kept saying ORV is bad. i'm loosing my braincell pls help. I can't think of any flaw in ORV (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
