Random Question (LOL)

So I was reading 'Soko Ni Suwaru Na' and this scene happened when they are eating grapes:
http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/soko_ni_suwaru_na/an/soko-ni-suwaru-na-chapter-2.html/6/
It made me realize similar times have happened in other manga, where the characters peel the grapes before eating. I just usually thought to each his own, but now seeing it so frequently I started to wonder is it more normal to eat grapes this way in Japan?

So if anyone has any comment on if you peel grapes or just eat them, please tell me! Thanks (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

I am from the USA and I have been made fun of by family and friends when I peel my grapes.

I would fall in love with the first person to peel strawberries for me (FYI).

If I'm not mistaken, Japanese people peel every fruits they eat, even grapes. I read it from from an article somewhere not too long ago. Did you notice they peel apples too, right? Though that's more common to see. I hope this helped answer your question!。^‿^。

My family and I eat every almost every edible-skinned fruit out there without peeling the skin. When I was living back home, it never occured to me to peel skin of mangoes, apples, grapes, guava, kiwi, strawberry, pear, and you name it. So imagine my suprise. Also, I was shocked that many I know eat tomatoes without peeling the skin. It was also a huge suprise.

Just a random japanese person passing thru~

I've eaten grapes in Japan as well as US (this is where I live now), and I personally think the skin on the grape in US is thinner and tasteless while the one in Japan is thicker and tastes bitter when left in the mouth. I like eating grapes with skins, but I don't eat the skins in Japan. Hope that helped!
