I mostly felt just pity for Seno but I didn't really come to like him (or more like, I didn't come to want him to be with Natsuka bc I didn't really like his approach to that relationship--kinda felt like it wasn't that he loved Natsuka but that he wanted someone to love him like how Natsuka loved Hakushima so I couldn't really be invested into him being with Natsuka). His attachment to Natsuka made me want him to actually let go of Natsuka and come to the realization that he didn't need his acknowledgement to find value in himself.

I also felt the story didn't really explore Natsuka's development into wanting to be with Seno, so I also didn't feel a connection on his side to being with Seno. It felt too rushed, so ended up feeling kind of forced. I also winded up feeling pity for him and kind of pissed with how he treated Seno (though I do understand that they were only friends with benefits at first--but that also made me not like how he "used" him to sub for Hakushima when he believed they switched bc it showed how little he thought of Seno for so long, which in turned made me more aggravated with how little the story explored him coming to the realization of his feelings with Seno).

I mean, I think the story's direction for how it wanted Natsuka to be with Seno was fine (the whole falling for someone while believing you love someone else), but I think it'd have served the point better if we saw more scenes of Natsuka falling for Seno while believing he was Seno.

I did end up liking how things developed with Hakushima, in that Natsuka realized he didn't really know him but also wanted to just read a story about him and see him get a happy love story too.

In conclusion, I think this had too much going on and needed a third volume to better delve into the different aspects the story brought up and needed a better conclusion for Seno with his insecurities. And a separate story just for Hakushima.

Yes to all of this. Would’ve connected with this story and characters more jf there was more development
