Is this webtoon Korean?

I'm not of Asian descent and definitely not trying to offend, just genuinely curious. I've been wondering this from the beginning but is this really a Korean Manhwa or is it a Chinese Manhua? The illustrations seem to be more ancient Chinese than Korean. There are no Hanbok's anywhere to be seen. No gats or topknots. The headdress and clothing seem to follow more with ancient Chinese attire than Korean. Idk, I could be completely wrong and this could just be set in a time period before the Joseon period but it just kind of threw me off, specially after reading POTN. If someone could shed more light on the topic, it would be greatly appreciated.

This is a Korean manhwa based from a Korean novel. It is set in a fantasy empire, presumably in the ancient Korea. The timeline is way before the Joseon era, (think like the age of Shilla, Goguryeo, etc.) when the culture was still more similar to Chinese than the Korean Joseon. Hope that helps.

The ancient Korean empire that we saw in many dramas and movies are considered following the time after Korean started their own traditions. I believe this one is more before Korean raised its own empire in which they still use Chinese traditions and all. Since, Korean empire originally rooted from Chinese ancient empire. So it's a no surprise to see Chinese traditional clothes and styles in this manhwa.

There's no English translation for the novel as of right now. The original Korean novel is available for purchase on Ridibooks.
