I did not say rape is part of Japan’s society. I am from Japan and lived in Japan for a very long time. I’ve seen many places all around Japan and it’s civilization. Raped shouldn’t be normalized of course, but in Japan…compared to many other countries like USA and so on, rape and sexualization is more normalized than you think. Don’t get me wrong, rape isn’t normalized in JPN but it sure is not as a known significant issue compared to other countries. That’s why there are many romance series and hentai that does not take rape seriously.
