I cannot imagine wearing a corset and dress all the time in those days. I would hate it and I hate wearing dresses lol. I also read that when they would wear corsets it messed up their ribs because they had it so tight but I dunno if that is actually true
Tight-lacing was frowned upon in society and women played a variety of sports wearing a corset, there is more benefits to wearing a properly fitting corset than not, and if you had large breast the pros far outweigh the cons, the amount of back support they give is heavenly
Corsets do not damage the ribcage. The dramatic look usually had more to do with padding the chest and butt than the corset. Tight-lacing was only really done by a few ultra fashion conscious upper class ladies.
