I feel like if he absorbed the earth dragon he should be much stronger than he is?
I mean I don't know how strong dragons are in this world but they are usually like mythic creatures and a fire lizard gave him trouble even after extra training? I wish he had gotten a lot stronger than simply beating goblins with ease.
