How was he terrible? FL never communicated with him. How was he suppose to know what she was thinking if she never said anything. The FL is the stupid one here

Completely agree! Also I think she was far too young and very naïve. The blame is in the ML, not the FL who was far too young emotionally and age wise AND had serious family issues. The author only briefly mentioned her hardcore family issues, but having a family that doesn't love you is enough to seriously mess anyone up.
