Yeah...no... The FL was naïve and deserved A LOT better. She has obvious trust issues and a bad family background. WHICH HE WOULD'VE KNOWN IF HE ASKED. (They had seriously communication problems on both sides, but at his age he should've known at least a bit better)
Also *that* scene: It was rape. Clear and simple. That scene was HORRID. Her running away was completely understandable and she should've divorced him.
How the ML didn't realise his family would react negatively to such a young bride from a lower socioeconomic background is beyond me
