Raymond's character has indeed always been selfish. And we all can be a bit selfish, however, he is extremely egocentric, self absorbed and blinded by revenge. How easy it was for him to sacrifice others for personal gain is truly disgusting.
Also, Ray drugging Ian is way out of line as well. In any relationship, trust is needed to stay afloat. But I know, if the person I loved drugged me to devise and carry out an evil plan that involved my friends and colleagues, then, how could I ever trust someone like that again? Despite the love Ian has for Raymond, I'd prefer that he left him and pursued his dream in art. Sure, he got a head start with Raymond's connection, but Ray simply used him to move closer to nobility. So I have no qualms with Ian using Raymond in return. His name is already out there and he has clientele, so I believe he could make a living without the aid of Raymond.
At this point, I just...don't know how I feel about them being together anymore. Raymond's selfishness is a deal breaker for me.
