Slowly the clouds draw back on this, and light is revealing the delusions. Like it!

Why thank you! Chalk it up to too many books I have read floating around like ominous storm clouds in my brain, here some Chaucer (the naughty boy), there some Frost, and over in the corner, huddling over a small brazier, Mr. Shakespeare himself mumbling in iambic pentameter. *snicker* Poor William!

A fan of the classics, ne? Bobby Frost is a fave. LOL "Stopping by the woods on a snowy evening" has the best ending line and I use it often... "And miles to go before I sleep". I remember the first time I used it, too. We were having late night rehearsals for a play in high school, they were dragging on forever, and I heaved a deep sigh and said that line... my drama coach stared at me with her mouth open and then said, "I had no idea you were such a deep person." I just smiled at her and closed my eyes as if to nap. Wow, thanks for helping me remember such a great moment. LOL (▰˘◡˘▰)

Ah, that is one of my faves from him too ... the images he evokes are so beautiful. "The woods are lovely, dark and deep ..." etc.
You are welcome for the remembrance ...

Do you remember, or have you seen, the movie "The Outsiders"? Frost's "Nothing gold can stay" is used to depict the sense of loss when Johnny dies. It was so beautiful and heart wrenching. That was what inspired me to read more of Frost's works and I became an immediate fan for life. My middle son became a fan the same way. (⌒▽⌒)

That was actually the next poem that came to mind. LOL Never did watch the Outsiders - read the book instead but don't remember it very well any more. But to me the "Nothing Gold can Stay" always just reminded me that seasons inevetiably turn, and that life is cyclical and will return.

    Beautifully eloquent, as always, toki.

The book is almost always better than the movie. LOL
