right, i think obviously this started off kinda weird with yoon just showing some random person he finds attractive a video of him masturbating but i think their relationship got a lot better as it went on. there are like other stories where the characters are totally messed up and the plot is also hella messed up, but they still find a way to romanticize the characters and never say anything is really wrong with it

It's all in the context; for painter of the night, it is set in a feudal era where commoners have no rights; for killing stalking, it's a thriller/psychological work. They are both very different genres from this work, and acknowledge that the relationship within is not a 'healthy' one. Just because other works are more 'toxic' as you put it, does not negate this work. As a reader you should learn to separate the two, taking into account genres as well. That aside, this novel did start off and is still somewhat (if less) 'toxic'. It's all in context.

I'm not attacking you just so we're clear. I think the work is pretty cute, I just think that your viewpoint isn't exactly the most unbiased one.

I'm not saying that we should excuse this manga just because there are others worse, I'm saying that people here are so pissed but there's a lot of mangas with toxic plots that nobody dares to point, just says good things about it, and that's kinda hypocrite. Their relationship is kinda weird in the beginning and it's really dangerous to do what the uke did but I don't think the plot is toxic.
