Uhh well yaoi And doujinshi are kinda like genres? Yaoi is purely male to male while doujin can vary in all aspect but mainly the point of it is that it is fanmade or not real but a fantasy based on a certain story line.

A doujinshi is story or scene based off an already existing story. Also doujinshi's are not always yaoi they can be yuri or straight too. And yaoi is hardcore boys love.

Yaoi = a manga genre featuring romance relationship between male with explicit scenes.

Doujinshi = a PUBLISHING FORMAT. Unofficial fan-made publication featuring characters from other works (manga, anime, films, books etc). The author (doujin-ka) doesn’t own the characters (except special cases when manga authors draw doujin for their own works) and the genre can be anything existing under the sky, not limited to yaoi.

    Hope that helps.
