Do you guys remember when Akihito runs away from home for like 3 days. When he gets back Asami is piss, and later on in the convo he gets angry because Akihito tells him "Why don't you just lock me up", or something like that....Can anyone please explain to me the reason Asami gets so angry? He even tells Akihito that he will erase anyone who touches him. Does that mean he thinks Akihito "cheated" on him? What do you guys think?

One of sensie interview, she straight up said that "the only one who can break away from asami grip is akihito".That mean he has the power to separate himself from asami but the question is, does he want to. Y... @Yes

But...isn't it the other way around? That he WANTS to break free from Asami (and even tries) but finds that he CAN'T? I absolutely don't want to disrespect Yamane Sensei, but I don't see where Akihito ever has the power to break free from Asami any more than anyone else...am I missing something?

Akihito doesn't really want leave Asami. He did this unwillingly because: 1. of his rebellious personality (to prove himself and Asami that he could do what he wanted); 2. he thought Asami was probably cheating on him; 3. he took his camera when Sudou made him make a choice between Asami and his job so he didn't have the key of the penthouse anymore.

But he was sad to leave. Then, the three days he spent outside made him think and he was rather depressed. But when Kirishima took him back home and Asami kissed and touched him, he said himself he wanted Asami's touch only and that all his efforts to stay away were a waste.

So, Akihito doesn't want to break free from Asami and also can't leave him because he's in love with him.

After reading all the great theories I just had to add my own observation. From the beginning Asami appears to have been drawn to Akihito's fierce independence. To someone in Asami's position of power there are not many who would defy him, yet here's this kid who is audacious enough to stick his tongue out at him. Every time Asami has been angry with Akihito it was when he was being submissive and turning his eyes away, instead of being independent with a fire in his eyes. I've always felt that played a dynamic in how they are getting along. Asami needs a lover who is equal to his own spirit.

It's exactly what I think. Asami doesn't want someone with a weak personality, inconstant, a man on whom he cannot rely. He doesn't want a lover who would say yes to everything, who would obey to every order... even if, I think, Asami would be more satisfied sometimes if Akihito said yes more often^^ (like in the last chapter when he wanted him to escape with Kirishima, or when he was worried for him because of the stalker).

Asami cannot be bored with Akihito.

And what surprises me a lot is the unusual capacity of Asamy to forgive Akihito, even when Aki betrayed him (when Aki told Fei Long men where Asami was). Asami never would have forgotten or forgiven this betrayal if it had been someone else. And with Aki, he only said to him to follow him to the deepest layer of hell before kissing him violently. He also told him he didn't allow him to keep his freedom anymore and a few time later, Aki said to Asami he had to go to meet his friends.^^ Aki can do (nearly) everything!

To back up Northwest and Alohomori's statement about Asami preferring a fierce and independent Akihito... Asami actually stated this himself from almost the beginning: http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/you_re_my_loveprize_in_viewfinder/mh/v02/c008/24/

In the back of Vol 2 or Vol 3, Asami gives an interview where he is almost giddy that Akihito dared to come to the club and mentions liking strong-willed women. I don't know if that was ever scanlated but is in both the Be Beautiful and June versions.

Yes, that's the interview. Thanks for posting it! Asami shows how taken he is with Akihito from the very beginning.

It also shows how surprised Asami is that he is so taken with Akihito. He didn't expect to have such strong feelings. Asami was essentially caught in his own trap.
