This arc is very clearly trying to explore mental illness (idk im not a psychiatrist but Chowon probably has bpd and is experiencing hallucinations [a bad sign!]) and no that doesn't excuse his actions from before but we're seeing a gradual change in Chowon and we just reached a turning point—which is important! When you're at the height of an episode (in my experience with depression) there is no motivation to get better. We literally cannot think of a better life for ourselves because we either feel like we don't deserve it or have just been so defeated by life (in this case Chowon has been in his opinion betrayed by Dojun and has not healed—he is constantly angry and on edge because he is consumed by what happened) that we cannot change by ourselves. And so we isolate ourselves and get worse and we let our thoughts race obsessively over what made us this way. like of course Chowon was going to get worse when Dojun stopped coming home!! he was alone and left to spiral! Not entirely Dojun's fault because it's his life or whatever but what do you expect from someone who was probably predisposed to having a psychiatric disorder anyway. We spiral very easily because we are unwell.

Obviously this is a fictional story set in an impossible world and not really that great of a representation of mental illness but I see some accuracies between all the drama. Because while this arc is mainly drama there is an attempt to portray a story of mental illness and it shows. Anyway just my thoughts and why I pity Chowon a lot because I seen some people call Chowon just spoiled and not mentally ill when huh??? he was literally hallucinating and having violent thoughts lmfaooo he is very mentally unwell.
