i was also thnking the same thing omg,, maybe she didn't actually see his eyes is what im trying SO HARD to rationalize. bc in that chapter i think she can only see his lower face.

Maybe she saw the scar? It could be that the first time she saw his face the scar was hidden..

In chapter three she sees his face clearly and even gets up close to him... so why does she only recognize him now?
