MC finds out that the ML was raised as a victim of abuse by the late empress which always made him wonder why she did she would beat him relentlessly, all the while making sure that the bruises/marks were on spots the late emperor would never see. Then, on the day of his birthday, the empress orders him to kill a beaten up blindfolded maid and starts beating him to do it. Realizing that the empress was beating him extra hard with the intent to kill if he doesn't do what he's ordered, he kills the maid and stabs her multiple times. Thats when the empress starts laughing uncontrollably and asks him “do you ever wonder why I always hated you and did the things that I did?” She removes the blindfold of the dead maid that revealed underneath her haggard appearance was the ML biological mother, revealing that the emperor accepted him as his son bc he carried the bloodline but not the empress.when the late emperor found out the empress was dethroned (and i think exectued)

MC cries for the emperor after hearing this story which made him warm up to her even further. Eventually the emperor realizes that rose never rly loved him and that the MC was the one who cared for him. But it was too late she found out that the reason she was picked was bc she couldnt conceive children (hence the sudden health check up that didnt occur in her previous life) bc the emperor back then intended to have a baby with Rosemund. Thus promoting rosemund as an official concubine.
Rosemunds plan was to have a baby with the emperor and killing him n the empress off so she can raise her son as the empress dowager. Resorting to using an aphrodisiac on him it doesnt work and the emperor pushes her away, bc at this point she already confessed to never loving him and wanted to use him. He leaves the palace but ends up having sex with the MC.

But dw tho rosemund does end up getting exectuded after she tried to kill the MC again when our gal was on her way back to the palace. The emperor overheard rosemund sending assassins outside her room and quickly called for knights to be sent. With the emperor as a witness, he gives the MC full control on the investigation with no nobles in the way. And with no one to back her up rosemund was exectued 2 days after her trial.

I tried to fit in as much as i could in terms of juicy information but if u guys wanna know other stuff or plotholes like ,why didnt she end up with the 2nd male lead!! what about nil and duchess effreny situation, the situation with january, what about rosemund being the only concubine since the MC is infertile or hoW doES SHE sTILL fall for him?!? or other stuff leave a comment!! And ill try to rack my brain n remember
