Emm IMO, I remember that in the early chapter there's a scene where shuli and marquis had a discussion about marriage contract, shuli agreed to married as she wanna be free from her family and marquis agreed as he need a caretaker(?) for his children and to be a temporary head of the clan until Jeremi's able to lead the neuwstains
But i think jeremy blamed his self too much :3
