Even if Aden is the rightful ruler and Sayid was an interim ruler (even though he didn't want the position and him saying the citizens not liking him), he was a ruler for 16 years. He changed after meeting Chloe and changed in those 16 years, so maybe some citizens started liking him and having him as their ruler. Those citizens would want him to rule for life and in turn, his children if they had any. That means a political battle between Aden and the future children, even if Aden is the rightful ruler/heir.
