True that. To be honest, I don't really get why the characters are the way they are, except Mayama. But you're right. People who abuse their lover have a serious egoistic streak, would never blame themselves. And Yumi really did not learn anything or even acknowledge he was in an abusive relationship.
Would have liked it better if Yumi decided to leave on his own after realizing being with Kan-chan is unhealthy.
I knew when I posted this people wouldn't be happy with it.
There is a co-dependent relationship. This is why it takes so long for some people to get out of a abusive relationship.
On one side you have the controller aka the abuser. It's all about control and power. The reason why I said Ken-chan would not of been ok with him just leaving is.. cause in his mind Yumi belongs to him. This was shown when he freaked out when he was a hour late. That would not have just gone away.
On the flip side. Part of Yumi believe's he should be punished. It stems from self loathing, and low self esteem. Also the belief that this is love, and he will change.
These issues have to be fixed before Yumi can have a healthy relationship with anyone. I hope this clears up the why a little bit
*sigh* I was really cheering this manga on. I was like this is really realistic.. Until...
Wouldn't be nice if all abuser were.. like "Hey I am being a monster! Let's break up." That doesn't happen people. (⊙…⊙ ) Yumi didn't learn anything this way. He didn't stand up. He didn't find the will to over come.
Anyways, I was really disappointed in this seem to be rushed ending. I am glad that he found love, but not sure that he earned it.
