I don't care how "socially inept" he might be, that's no excuse for treating her like complete dogshit. Like if he really loved her then he could've consummated the marriage on their 1st night but what? He could have actually sat down with her and had a conversation instead of having her believe rumours. It pisses me off that the author will most likely have them get together again.
