I really dont think this should be considered brainwashing, it's just a heartfelt story about PEOPLE. During WW2 both sides committed horrible war crimes. I'm not condoning what the Japanese soldiers did but this is just a manga come on
Both sides??? Wtf did China do to deserve the Nanjing Massacre? Also mangas are something that's commonly read in Japan, especially mangas like these that have good quality drawings and a heartfelt story, so it's important that modern mangakas be aware of their actions. Moreover, although it arguable isn't brainwashing, it still isn't alright to be perpetuating this sort of "glory of Japan" bullshit that should be left behind with the imperial propaganda of WWII Japan.
Japan is actually brainwashing many people with their glorious war stories, the sad reality of people being dispatched is ondeed true but so is the fact that Japan comitted horrible war crimes they weren't defending themselves they started the war
