Me too, but in chinese novels lovers often call each other brother (name)/sister (name), since in chinese it's an honorific towards someone close but older (sometimes used towards younger) so I try to think about it as a honorific just like in chinese. It feels less weird, you can try it.

Yep. In korean there is also something like that. It's similiar but in chinese I have a feeling it's used much more often.
