Nitta Youka is doing such an important work bringing the discussion about gay marriage in Japan to the table in her work and all you can think about is "Poor Shou"?
Please, the issue with Shou was very well written, he HAS parents, he is NOT a child, he makes HIS OWN decisions as an adult. Katou and Iwaki gave him advice, they can't treat him like a kid because he isn't one.
This isn't a mpreg manga, it's a mature work that deals with adult themes. Shou's appearance didn't happen to fulfill your maternal instincts by making Iwaki turn into a mother, it happened to show how a man deals with finding out about an ADULT son he had when he was a dumb kid. Iwaki did the right thing, he gave the kid support and advice, and offered his help, Shou went to bed with the agent because HE WANTED TO.
Also, it's obvious that Iwaki will have a stronger bond with Yousuke, he knows the kid ever since he was a baby, while Shou is a stranger.
