Its doesn't Ajin is clean from romance genre because all mc is male lead that is Kei, Kai and Nakano! Also there's barely has female at all in Ajin and the bromance theme kinda strong in it. Hope this explainヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~

I'm pretty sure thats not him its only his IBM, Kei didn't care much about Kai before even toward his sister so how can he show an affection on that woman if I could remember did IBM can move on their own accord without they owner command they can even talk. Well even if he's about to shown a care/affection toward someone that person would be Kai and his sister or probably Nakano the one that he knew longer or closer also he barely speak to that girl btw. So how can we count that as romance?
Maybe I'm being paranoid, but if Nagai's IBM has taken a liking to Shimomura, then Nagai is sure to follow. It's not romance, but it could be a hint at future romance unfortunately. There is a connection between every ajin and their black ghost. In the first place, I'm hoping that's not even Nagai's IBM though.
It would be really out of character for Nagai to fall in love and I can't stand romantic subplots. I would hate to drop such a good manga for that reason.

No, it's not. That chapter is her flashback = haven't meet Tosaki, Nagai, etc. It's her own IBM. It's really sweet, she's protecting herself with her own IBM ;_;.

Dunno man, pretty sure it's her IBM, she comforts herself unconsciously. IBM follows Aijin's will (well, except for some people). This IBM looks like a human, so I think she needs human's warm, so her IBM turned into human's form and hug her (okay maybe it doesn't make sense but it's 1000% not Nagai's IBM, it's her flashback, her life was such a mess, she ran away from home since high school sold herself, and lived in a hotel, and then she aged 20, it's her birthday and she's lonely, that's why she's unconsciously made her IBM hug her)
Ah or she has two IBMs.
