in this case tho i don't think the sultan caused jealousy on purpose like you made it sound. he's yandere asf, and I think the concubines were all brought in by the court officials. this is how things are supposed to be. obviously, in modern day, monogamy is a thing– but that's not the case in a historical setting. especially not the emperor, who rules over an empire.
