EXACTLY- it pisses me off so much because the characters ALWAYS “forgive” the characters that do shit to them even tho they dont deserve to be forgiven and havent done anything new to make the other person forgive them
exactly i dont get it and it makes me so mad how theyre always so easily forgiven but it also makes me feel powerful and like a villian cause i always think if someone hurt me and wanted me back i would literally break their heart into pieces
IKR, it piss me off how they just magicly forgiven. Even more sickening is some reader always blame the victim for causing misunderstanding through harmless means, is being cold, indifferent or weak such a great sin that you deserved to be abused, insulted and humiliated. And they always justified the ML abuse with 'Don't judge him, he has his own reason'. IDGAF if the ML had a sad childhood trauma, being hurt doesn't make it okay for you to hurt others. I bet if the ML is some ugly, fat old man not some hot sexy hunk they would the first to throw a brick.

I really don't get it, whenever I read Yaoi or Shoujo, the MC still madly in love with the trash ML who treat them like shit and choose to stay in that toxic relationship with their own choice. I mean, even if someone treat me like a Queen, it's easy for me to fall out love, If someone cheat on me even though they choose me over the cheater, I would say 'No thanks'. Forgiveness is one thing but to be together again with the one who hurt you is another thing.
