I'm getting annoyed

Pink Lemonade September 9, 2015 10:45 pm

I have been reading yaoi with similar semes who are supposedly not GAY when they are with a GUY because it's a SPECIAL case. I know it might be a case of DENIAL but still. They could say they are BI but NO they want to be STRAIGHT. They could be attracted to another guy somewhere in the future so it doesn't make any SENSE!!(╯°Д °)╯╧╧

Ikr they're almost never bi (the same goes for uke). They state they're straight instead -__- The best part is when their uke get jealous bc of another GUY.

lol that made me laugh, really true. There is a list called actually gay dudes that's excluding stuff like we're both straight and you're a special case.

Could that be a standard "gay fantasy"? Turning straight guys gay?

Oh yeah, I've seen that list. It's a good one. The thing is I pick manga to read pretty randomly, so I never know what to expect ^^

Maybe, but I most yaoi manga are aimend at girls. Perhaps this "special case" thing exists because gays are not really accepted in japen. The Japanese got a thing for that "it`s wrong, but cause it´s fate/love it´s allowed". Of course being gay isn´t wrong in anyway, but many people think that all around the world. In my oppinion the mangakas want to keep their conservative readers like that. Some of them might even think it´s wrong to be gay, expept the "special cases" of course, themselves.

IAWTC. So much of the appeal of yaoi romance is the forbidden love aspect, which, I guess, women often relate to because of ... maybe consequences? The consequences of sex (pregs, babies, "everyone's telling me I'm too young, so abort", ostracization, heavy-heavy responsibilities and decisions) come down hardest on women, so I think some of the appeal of yaoi is we relate to stories where sex is fraught with risk and danger. Take that danger away, and ... well, there's always the appeal of two guys getting hot and heavy, which is also pretty nice.

They "could" be attracted to another guy in the future. It's not certain. I just dismiss it as sexual exploration. They're still defining what they are. It's too soon to put a label on it.

If someone doesn't get hard for another male and only dated girls they are straight but if they find them selves attracted to a guy they are still considered straight. Why? because if you dangled a dick in front of them they wouldn't get hard. It makes perfect sense. The future doesn't count because their is no future for these characters they are all inside a manga. If your talking about a real life person than follow them 24/7 if you want to investigate. Because the special case does exist for those who are gay/straight/lesbian. I once met a lesbian who dated and had sexual relationships with girls, met a guy in college and fell in love with him got married and had kids. Guess what!!?? she still find her self attracted to girls not guys. She could see a bunch of guys around her and wouldn't do a thing for her. People wouldn't understand this because they like placing everything within one category. If you were more open minded than you would be able to understand the whole "Special One". Also, it has nothing to do with culture or homo's being a sin. Honesty, don't be annoyed by something you are unable to comprehend.

    I have a secret stash of yaoi. September 10, 2015 4:27 am

Right? The "only gay for you" thing is my least favourite trope in yaoi. I'm so over the internal conflict consisting of pretty much just "but how is it possible that I'm having feelings for another guy? He is a man and I am a man??" Maybe the mangaka thinks it's more special to be the exception, but to me it just reeks of "no homo."

You're taking yaoi way too seriously. It's fiction and relies on ridiculousness to be interesting.
