Well, he was prostituting himself and was a minor, i think most likely it's for identity. No one knows what he looks like that way. The teeth thing refers to why people thought he covered his face (It was translated a little oddly here) but essentially they thought he did it cus he was insecure about his teeth. He says teeth get in the way becasue he over heard them taking about it :D
