I think it's good the queen is being a bit stricter with him during puberty. She's not treating him like Cinderella, but she's disciplining him when he's rude. He's at the age where he's learning boundaries. If she didn't, he'd basically become a soiled, isolated, rich kid.
Also, glad the author actually made Tita go through an angsty cheeky teenager phase. Keeping him as a docile, sweet teenager/adult would've been just way too boring.
