It isn't because of the shounen ai it's because it's a damn Chinese manhua. From what I heard they are really strict about that...
Since a few years ago they also are forced to censor even kissing scenes in BL manhua. All because of the Chinese government being anti lgbtq+
Unfortunately people who control these things very homophobic that's why we couldn't get even kiss #－.－)
I guess that explains why all their bl donghua got no romantic aspect. I mean I watched mo Dao zu shi's animation and fans say its bl but looks more like action fantasy. There's no romance or maybe I just don't see it?
ah, I've seen that too. It is bl buuuuut they don't like that putting in animations. What's confusing me is that they are so strict with kissing in manhuas and barely if not even at all flirting in animations but I've seen clips of the live-action one and I see him pretty much flirting with Lan Zhan clear as day.... ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
The art is beautiful but the kiss scenes are all censored. Does shounen ai not include kiss scenes or just Chinese manhua is heavy on censoring kiss scenes.
