I agree with everything you’ve said here.
Haesoo facing the prospect of life without joowon in the accident, suddenly turns around and unilaterally decides to be by himself for 3 years just doesn’t make sense. And then it seems like they weren’t really in communication other than the week Joowon surprised him with a visit. So, joowon was still waiting for the love of his life from a decision he again wasn’t involved in making, on hiatus from acting, estranged from his dad FOR 3 YEARs.
This relationship is so freaking imbalanced, and I’m just once again failing to see what is so compelling about Haesoo. Like, he said he had never once abandoned him, but it just doesn’t feel that way.
i think haesoo has a pretty unconventional way of showing his love and maybe that's why it feels like he's not doing enough for joowon? ig that's why a lot of ppl liked taehae bc haesoo was following the ordinary relationship patterns: holding his hand, cuddling, smiling etc (even tho taku was initiating most of them, haesoo always indulged him). meanwhile, he never did a lot of PDA with joowon (he pushed him away a lot) and since joowon loves him so openly, it sometimes felt like their relationship wasn't equal. sure, as readers, we knew that haesoo is in love with joowon, but we're at a point in the story where i wished it was a little more obvious? on the surface, it feels like joowon is the only one really trying and although that's not true, this ambiguity is just draining tbh i wish haesoo would speak up more
also their reunion was a bit rushed and awfully short so maybe that's why some of us are dissatisfied with the outcome...we've waited for them to confess for a long time and after it happens we get taku/parents-focused chapters while joohae are what? taking a break again after crying in each other's arms bc their feelings run so deep? a flashback with them reaching an agreement to take some time off would've made more sense than the one from their childhood...i would've understood their decision better this way (I can do that from context but I just wanted to see them talk asjkjh) but anyway the author knows better ig
Like exactly. I want answers... What the guy did on his own? Seperated from his father, Haesoo and even job? Did he took a nap during these 3 years in his empty apartment hahaha?
That's my problem. Their relationship is imbalanced. The one making most decisions, dictating rules, conditions is mostly Haesoo. I'd like to see Haesoo being more considerate and empathetic towards Joowon?
And exactly Joowon is such a charismatic, funny person it's just heartbreaking to see his world spinning around Haesoo and with his life on hold while waiting if Haesoo will or won't come back.
But you see we all know that he is in love with Joowon but my personal problem with all of that it looks like he is not really considerate and empathetic towards him. Joowon was also like that at times but thanks to his character development he started be much more considering character. Meanwhile... Haesoo is Haesoo. He makes the rules, he dictates conditions and Joowon has to keep up with them.
I'm really disappointed how the story turned out. I thought as long as they will end up together I will be happy... But lol it's not the case. Everything feels rushed, some decisions of the atuhor are questionable to me (or simply just don't make sense). Ofc it's their story, their choice but I can't pretend I'm a fan of the path they've chosen.
"a flashback with them reaching an agreement to take some time off would've made more sense than the one from their childhood" and yes. We know how important their past is, how it shaped them... But can we move finally from the past and start living through the present time?
Like yes they've agreed to 1 year but in the end it expanded to 3.
Idk with every chapter I lose more and more enthusiasm. Tbh I'm not even hyped for the next chapter(s) as I used to be although theoretically we've finally reached the poin we've been waiting for such a long time. Which shows how some Joowon's fans are disappointed although theoretically we've got what we wanted.
I think there was a convo or internal thoughts with T and H, about how a two people in a relationship can never be merged as one. Subtext being that a person must have their own sense of self, well rounded and whole, before a relationship with someone else. But that needs to be mutual, and I question joowon’s development in this sense, at least as laid out in the story. We can see Haesoo focusing on his work, dream, life goals etc, but what about joowon. It feels like a major impetus for him becoming an actor was to live out a fantasy life of love, family, simple answers and happy endings. Does he even like acting? He was ready to throw it all away over heartbreak, and then only appeared to renew the contract to protect H. What else does he have to become a whole, complete person? We really need to see this addressed in order to for his development or their re-start relationship to make sense.
I don't think we can compare Joowon's development with Haesoo's. Joowon had a lot of time to work on himself and come to terms with his feelings during their break up. Meanwhile, Haesoo was trying to fall for another guy and while that helped him realize that he loves Joowon, he didn't have much time to reflect upon himself - everything happened too quickly. I think they both needed some time away from each other because they had a lot of issues to begin with and an accident paired up with an "I love you" in a hospital room wasn't going to solve anything. If we think of Haesoo leaving because he wanted to better himself before loving Joowon, he was being considerate. Instead of half-assing things, he tried to become the best version of himself before starting a relationship with Joowon. It wasn't long ago that he said he didn't have the mental capacity to date someone and I don't think that changed just because it was Joowon and not Taku.
I know that it seems like Joowon always gets the short end of the stick, but he made it clear that Haesoo's happiness comes first even if it doesn't involve him. Haesoo said he didn't think there would be a place to come back to after his trip, but Joowon was there waiting for him because that's just who he is. I'm sure he never felt forced into accepting this situation. (I love Joowon with all my heart and I hate seeing him suffer, but it is what it is.)
I'm not that happy with how things lead up to their separation because we haven't seen them have a proper conversation about their relationship at all. I'm glad to see them casually hanging out, but it doesn't feel enough when they never really fixed the issues that kept them apart for more than a decade.
I have a problem with Joowon's world spinning around Haesoo... Imo it is just not healthy in the slightest and I would prefer if author focused bigger part of the story on this point. I just want to see Joowon as a being beside Haesok and we rarely see that.
As Tortugas said we don't even know to this point if he actually enjoyed or didn't enjoy acting. We've learned about the fact that Joowon had partners from q&a etc etc. I'd just prefer for him having more of a screen time in general.
And we are talking about 3 years.
Of course it's better that Haesoo will come back as someone comfortable with himself etc but 3 years isn't a bit much? And if I understood correctly it's not even Haesoo coming back but Joowon visiting him? So does he even plan to return at all?
Tbh I'd like to see Joowon thinking more about himself at times? Their relationship looks pretty imbalanced.
And I agree with your other post that most likely we are going to get 1-3 chapters focused mostly on smut... And not them working through their issues. Which is super disappointing to me.

Why am I not happy about the newest chapter 100 and the path author chose?
So let's start with the fact I wholeheartedly agree that Haesoo needed a break. After the whole fiasco with Taku, not long before that: the painful "break up" with Joowon. He needed a time for himself. Period.
But imo author could have chosen much better solution than a life threatening situation aka accident which has brought them together.
Sorry but the writing looks just kinda amusing and incoherent because of that. You have Haesoo crying his soul out, being terrified that he could have just lost Joowon, trembling, being REGRETFUL ... and you want to tell me after all of that, when they were brutally faced with reality how fragile life can be... They've decided (more like Haesoo decided and Joowon as always agreed) to separate for not such a short period of time (at the beginning they were talking about 1 year but it has expanded to 3).
Looks kinda inconsistent to me.
It seems like they didn't really have THE TALK before separation...so they are nearly at the same point (at least in their relationship) beside knowing that their feelings are mutual.
It even gives off the vibes as if Haesoo was running away once again from his problems and responsibility. Which is tbh a cycle we have seen in the story few times already.
What's next... 3 years? Rather a long time and it doesn't look like Haesoo is so eager to come back?
The fact that Joowon has to make excuses to visit Haesoo for a whole week (sarcasm) in Spain (are their officially together or is their relationship still in status quo?) just rubs me in the wrong way?
And now Joowon, my favourite character. Sometimes I just think he and Haesoo maybe want different things and I start to ask myself if all of that is even worth it?
Sometimes love is just not enough, you know?
I'm just tired of seeing Joowon getting along with Haesoo's conditions, desires... And barely thinking about himself. Relationship should be mutual. Both sides should have some compromise. Idk if Haesoo even wants to settle down meanwhile Joowon always desired domestic life with family. Of course the guy is madly in love with Haesoo and will wait for him to his 80s but is it really healthy?
Haesoo took time for himself, for his work, to breathe... I'm curious what Joowon did in the meanwhile. I doubt author will develop this part but maybe I'll be positively surprised... Because let's be real he had a lot of time to reflect on his and Haesoo's relationship, on his past actions during Haesoo's and Taku's relationship. So I'm curious what was he doing during these 3 years? We know he took break from acting... So what did he do?
I just want to see Joowon living for himself more? Getting hobbies, traveling, making friends. I'm exhausted with how his life is always spinning around Haesoo and how he puts him on some pedestal.
Also idk 3 years in separation? And barely meeting each other (idk if Joowon's newest visit isn't the first time)... Haesoo doesn't feel the need to be with the one he loves?
Sigh. Idk I have a really mixed feelings about the whole thing. Just as I said after Ch 99. I like the outcome but I can't pretend I'm happy with details.
