Its so sad to think that Canale had the mindset of 'I didnt have a right to be loved' :( Poor boy, how can you say that when the reasons you were bringing misfortunes is basically caused by those people who regarded you as a curse just because of the fortune teller whatsoever. It is not you who caused those misfortunes, but those who thought of you as a demon by the time you were born which eventually clouded their sound mind and lead to making evil decisions and actions then blamed it all onto you at the end. As to Ayase, I love how he promised to be strong enough to kill Canale if he were to kill him first because I believed that to be with someone, you need to be on equal par with each other: someone who can fulfill and accept your flaws but strong enough to not tolerate your evil deeds.

To think in historical time many people like Canale had suffered same fate cuz of blind faith in fortune tellers, Ayase is perfect match for him he is charming and dangerous guy who got this position himself fighting off pirates in his marvelous ways yet, he desired the most Angelic face in the in devil form like Canale who is beautiful yet clever who accepted his past and his disability a part of intelligence. Ayase promised to kill Canale in hope to give him reason not kill himself off in somewhere where Ayase wouldn't ever know. I like how unique their character were made very incredible.
