Hmm well... Thing is, "best" in this case doesn't coincide with "most realistic". I enjoyed BJ Alex even thought it had some waaaaaay red flag stuff. I also liked Private Lessons, it had some sketchy stuff, especially at first, but the dynamic was the closest to a realistic one I've encountered

Okay, so the practice is called "impact play" and it usually means hitting either with hands or objects, such as whips or paddles. Oftentimes, the hitting is done with an open fist, so it's mostly slapping. I've slapped my subs before, usually to the face/chest area/genitals/butt - only with clear and pre-agreed on consent though.
However, impact play isn't everyone's cup of tea and it's something you very clearly discuss and agree on beforehand. Before I engage in impact play, I need to know where they want to be hit, how hard and using which equipment.
Hitting with a fist is generally very inadvisable because there's a risk of doing some serious damage, breaking bones or causing a concussion. I know it happens between some pairs IRL who want to take it to the extreme, but it's not common because it's so risky. If both parties know exactly what they're getting themselves into, consent to the act and know the risks, deciding knowingly to take it, then yes, hitting with a fist CAN be alright. But really, I wouldn't advise anyone to bring straight up punches into it, especially to the face

I've known since pretty early adolescence that I'm not into gentle or vanilla sex so to me, it was kind of a natural slide from rougher sex to straight up BDSM. There's no limit to how much you have to be into it, some people just like some handcuffs every now and then, some people enjoy a roleplay here and there. Just listen to yourself, stick to what makes you feel nice/what's comfortable to you and go with that :)
