She wasn't scared of the firght instead she was scared the he'd get hurt protecting her. She said she wasn't scared of fights plus she liked him enough to come back even though she gets hit. Also she was told to get stronger by someone (which I assume is the student council president) I believe the person told her this after Takaomi protected her, but before his grandfather lost his school. Why else would she be protective of others only attacking when provoked and even her gang members dared not to go first in the fight (leaders charisma or something). I though this when I finally reread the series and the 'peter pan' section seems to suport this when it mentions a girl who played with the children. I'm guessing there'll be at least 20 more chapters and more I hope more comes out soon
