It was most likely that it wasn't selling well or it wasn't as popular. That's usually the case, if it wasn't because they just didn't know where to go with the story anymore. Either way it's not something the mangaka has control over. and people shouldn't blame them.
Does anyone know for sure that it was the mangaka's choice to drop this manga? Because before you start blaming her, you should consider that there may have been circumstances beyond her control that led to the manga being dropped. What is far more likely is that it was the publisher that dropped the title.
