It is not bl but in the novels they have a pure love and not one that is only platonic. They love each other to the fullest and even if their relationship isn't marked as "dating" or "bl" it doesn't matter.

This isn't BL, I know but the relationship between them is cute whether it's unromantically or whatever. I can say that they make up an AMAZING pair and again, I don't presume that this is BL. It's just that the relationship between them works in some way.
