As much as we see mass genocide not being the "correct answer", it does not eliminate itself as an answer. Our ethical and moral reasoning has shaped our understanding to reach a conclusion that destruction to man kind is not the most reasonable option, but! we cannot really disregard that they live in an entirely different world, and that they have been molded by their external environment differently.
Their battle have reached an impasse, there is no good or bad guy in war, they all fight for their own beliefs and selfish or selfless desires. And Eren who was pushed, pulled, in so many directions to what is right or wrong, who is the enemy or victim, has greatly affected his moral compass, and so he reached a conclusion and acted upon his decision no matter how unjustified it may be to our own moral belief.
If you feel such strong emotions for their fate, it just proves how much of a master piece this isヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
Only the rumbling can solve Eren’s goals. That being said, his dream of absolute freedom is not only something impossible and selfish but also self destruction. In fighting for that freedom he has become the most enslaved.
Genocide is not the answer, even Eren knows it himself. Using destruction to stop the cycle of hate just beget a new one (not to mention it’s very immoral).
I think Eren will die, I mean it’s a little obvious. I feel like Mikasa and Armin have a chance, especially since they represent the beauty and hope/dream of humanity (while Eren more so represents the courage, and then later- desperation/cruelty). Also bcuz “to save Mikasa and Armin”
Gabi and falco will probably live, they’re the new generation, and their character arcs (overcoming hatred and racism) is a powerful one.
Reiner is in the middle of his redemption arc, he might live or die as a hero. Levi had a huge death flags.

Look, I understand where he's coming from, I understand the desperation of wanting to break free in a world that wishes you obliterated just because you were born into a certain race where your ancestors messed up bad. I sympathize with it all. But is it really the answer? Is mass scale genocide really the answer Eren? Bad apples are eveywhere, no nation is exempt, but can that truly justify wiping out billions and billions of honest lives in horrid fucked up ways because the ones in power won't listen. Are all options exhausted? Are human lives worth that little? Are we worth so little to get trampled on to death? I can't fathom it and I'll never get anyone who's actively pro rumbling. Sure it's just fiction, a dark fantasy, grim and gory, but the realism has always been a strong element in this story, the characters have always felt dynamic and real. It's sad that this is the conclusion we've reached. Seeing clueless civilinans (especially kids, ohmygod) perishing in horrid deaths will never cease punching me in the guts.
Honestly, at this point I'll just cling to the characters that are still alive and mentally prepare myself for the ending. I know I'll cry either way (yes I'll also cry if Eren dies). Levi and Reiner are probably next to die (gosh i'll WEEP when that happens), maybe Connie too now that Sasha is gone ;-; I have hope that Jean, Mikasa and the kids will make it through. Annie and Pieck are shifters so I'm nervous how that'll go.
Armin's fate is hard to predict. It's gonna be agony for me anyways since he's my favorite character.
All that to say, I'm very frustrated with how this is going. I'm filled with dread everytime I open a chapter. Like THEY ALL FOUGHT SO HARD TO REACH THE OUTSIDE WORLD AND FOR WHAT, to destroy it with all its beauty and cruelty.
Call me an idiot idc, but genocide is not and will never be the answer, not when it breeds so much grief and misery.
