Dear Benjamin? Canceled?

AlexanderValmont January 18, 2021 11:25 am

Quick question i saw on a Spanish group that dear benjamin Korean manga has been canceled due to low sales (pirating) and the author was so crushed about this.

Is this true? I feel so bad for the author even though i didn't read the story but everyone seems to love it so i thought people were supporting her work :/

Oh, I've heard it first time when the manhwa was still on chap 6-7 iirc. But then the uploads continue so I just assumed that maybe it's just a rumor

All i know is the author and artist are dismayed that their comic is being uploaded to different sites illegally and are contemplating about dropping this comic. Thats why, as much as i love reading DB, i hope the uploaders stop in uploading the comic here or anywhere. It's a major blow to the efforts of the creators.

I think we read the same post. I've also done my research when I first read about. DEAR BENJAMIN IS NOT CANCELED. That Spanish post was basically someone saying people should stop illegally translating artists' works cause it affects their sales and legal ability to continue uploading their stories. Korea and Japan in particular quite a large number of artists who've had their manhwas/mangas pirated thus they'll have no choice but to stop drawing because it doesn't do them any good.

I also hope for it to have an official english translation where i can support them :(

Thank you everyone for the answers.

I think it's very important to support the artist we like, so if anyone wants to support Dear Benjamin author, you can do the following:

    1- Buy her works.
2- Follow her social media accounts and share links to her work (official links, not pirated versions)
3- If the author works were not translated into English, that's okay, but at least if you have money try and buy the raws // also share the official raws links to people who maybe interested in their work.
