Dont worry people Max will be back I think in Chapter 25. He was FORCED to go home because of an "unfinished" business...remember the dude in the wooden box...yeah thats the business and his fam forced Max to go home and Max went back to Chris' arms (I think in chapter 25) with regrets (cuz he was meant to kill the dude in the wooden box chapters ago and now his hesitant cuz he felt that Chris would be disappointed in him) of what happened and what he did prior to Chapter 25 (I think from Chapter 22-24). Ofcourse he cant tell Chris about why he's leaving I mean the dude is literary a hitman and yeah I cant understand the raws so I just imagine what happend through the pictures and I think he was not suppose to go back thats why he cant tell Chris. And Yeah since I cant Understand the raws I think Max convinces his father to let him stay in school then he go back.; . . . . .
